Although Orange UK is one of major UK-based carriers that offer the Samsung Galaxy S II, the network operator has yet to offer an exact release date for the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update.

Samsung officially announced that the update would be available in the UK starting March 19, but only one carrier was able to deploy the Android 4.0 ICS for Galaxy S II to its customers.

A few days ago Three started to push the update, while other carriers came forward with short “comforting” statements regarding the upcoming availability of Android 4.0 for Samsung Galaxy S II.

Rumor had it that O2 UK will deliver ICS update to its customers in mid-April, but an official denied the information and said that he had been informed Android 4.0 for Galaxy S II would come before the end of March.

Furthermore, Vodafone published a short statement on its support site, confirming that the update is now under tests and, as soon as they are completed, the carrier will inform its customers on the availability of Android 4.0 for Galaxy S II.

T-Mobile also said that it was working hard on making its ICS build for Galaxy S II available to all its customers as soon as possible, though it did not reveal any additional details.

Orange is one of the last operators to unveil details on the update. SoMobile reports that an Orange spokesperson told CNET Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update wouldn’t reach Samsung Galaxy S II devices until next month.

Unfortunately, the timeframe is a bit wide, so Orange UK customers who own the Galaxy S II will have to wait for the update at least one week. Worst-case scenario, they will have to wait for more than a month to be able to upgrade to the latest Android 4.0 Ice Cream operating system.
