Orange UK has recently posted Samsung C3300 Champ to its Coming Soon page. The mobile phone adds to another three devices listed on the same page: Nokia 1616, BlackBerry Pearl 9105 and Samsung Monte Slider. Orange UK intends to Samsung C3300 Champ to its PAYG (Pay as you go) customers for a price lower than 100 pounds.

The Champ is a mid-budget phone featuring a 2.4-inch TFT resistive touchscreen (262k colors and 240x320 pixels resolution), accelerometer sensor for UI auto-rotate, TouchWiz Lite UI, Speakerphone with stereo speakers, and 3.5 mm audio jack. The handset can be easily put into the lightweight category as it only weighs 80g (including battery). Perfectly pocket-sizable, the device measures 96.3 x 53.8 x 13 mm and is available four colors: Deep black, Espresso brown, Sweet pink, Chic white.

Other key features of the phone includes: 30 MB internal memory storage, microSD card slot (up to 8GB), 1.3-megapixel camera (video QCIF@15fps), Stereo FM radio with RDS function, musci and video players, GPRS and EDGE class 10, Bluetooth 2.1 with A2DP support, microUSB 2.0, as well as social networking services integration. It also packs a 1000 mAh Li-Ion battery that features a standby time of up to 666 h and up to 12 h talk time.

Samsung C3300 Champ has been officially announced in May 2010 and was shipped in June. The phone will probably start selling through Orange UK at the end of July. While the price hasn't been disclosed yet, its data sheet suggests a price lower than 100 pounds. Without any operating system or any fancy specs, the device will probably sell well, only if its price will be strongly subsidized by the network operator.
