Wireless services provider Orange has just announced the release of a new Android smartphone in its offering, the Orange San Francisco II, a successor for the award winning San Francisco handset.

Running under Google's Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system, the new mobile phone arrives on shelves with support for HD Voice, which will make it a great addition to Orange's current lineup of devices.

The new San Francisco II is expected to become available via Orange shops, Orange telesales and the Orange online shop starting with late November, and will be released both on monthly and pay-as-you-go plans.

“Offering outstanding value innovation, the 3G+ Orange San Francisco II offers everything customers expect from a high-end smartphone,” the wireless carrier announced.

The new mobile phone arrives on the market with an 800 MHz application processor inside and with a large 3.5” WVGA touchscreen display on the front, while sporting 512MB of internal memory, and the possibility to add more storage space via a microSD memory card slot.

The new mobile phone also comes to the market with a 5-megapixel photo snapper on the back, with support for video recording, as well as with AGPS, so that users could benefit from navigation services.

Not to mention that it offers fast access to the Android Market, so that users could download and install various applications and games.

Orange San Francisco II also comes to the market with a series of pre-loaded applications from the wireless carrier, including: Orange Wednesdays; offering 2-4-1 cinema tickets; Your Orange, allowing you to keep up to date and manage your account, and Orange Contacts Back-up.

“We are delighted to be following up on the success of the award winning original with such a full-featured product we expect it to be really popular with consumers in the run up to Christmas.”

As stated above, the new device is expected to become available for purchase through Orange shops, Orange telesales and online on the carrier's website starting with late November, and will sport a price tag of £99 ($155 / 115 Euros) on Orange pay as you go.
