BlackBerry 8820 have appeared on the "coming soon" page at Orange and is set for a soon release here too. The smartphone was announced for a release in the US, at AT&T just a few days ago and now is set to hit the UK market as well.

BlackBerry 8820 comes as an upgraded version for the previously released BlackBerry 8800 handset. It features a design which follows the line of most of Research in Motion's devices. The QWERTY keypad is one of the main reasons that BlackBerry devices are popular and the 8820 manages to bring an easy to use feature.

The smartphone also brings EDGE/GPRS and Wi-fi connectivity for data access and voice support through UMA (unlicensed mobile access). One evolved feature that Nokia is taking into consideration for all their handsets from now on is that of GPS. Especially in the case of a business phone, this proves to be highly useful.

The mobile phone fails in impressing through design features, sizes or even weight. All these will not make it stand out, although the fact that it doesn't have a camera included might manage to do this in a negative way. Still, some people are less interested in making photos with their handset and prefer a separate camera. Such users will appreciate the fact that they will not have to pay for a feature that would be little used.

BlackBerry 8820 packs 64MB of internal memory, Bluetooth and USB connectivity. It is also capable of providing email services and has also a microSD card slot for storing as much personal data as the user might need.

Orange has made no announcement on the date when this BlackBerry 8820 will be available for purchase. The price is also undisclosed, just as AT&T has chosen to do until now with this smartphone.
