Major carrier Orange has just announced the upcoming availability of two affordable smartphones in Europe, Yumo and Hiro. According to Orange, exact pricing will be announced with local availability.

Orange Yumo has been confirmed to arrive in Spain and Romania sometime in November, while the Hiro will be launched this month in France, Spain, Slovakia and Romania.

“Our customers are clearly telling us that they want the best smartphone experience, but that value for money is increasingly important.

The popularity of Orange smartphones across our European markets shows that we are delivering phones with great performance and cutting edge features like 4G, combined with the right package of services and the right price, “ said Yves Maitre, Executive Vice President of Mobile Multimedia and Devices, Orange.

Aimed at customers who want an affordable 4G-enabled smartphone, Orange Yumo comes equipped with a large 5-inch IPS capacitive touchscreen display that supports HD (720p) resolution, as well as a dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor clocked at 1.2 GHz.

In addition, the smartphone ships with Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean operating system and packs an enhanced 8-megapixel rear-facing camera, 8GB of internal memory and microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB).

On the inside, the Hiro comes equipped with a 1.3 GHz dual-core MediaTek MT6572 processor 4GB of internal memory and microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB).

It also packs a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera with autofocus, LED flash and HD (720p) video recording, as well as secondary VGA camera for video calls.

Other highlight of the phone included 4.3-inch LCD IPS capacitive touchscreen display, Wi-Fi and GPS with A-GPS support, HSDPA, HSUPA, Bluetooth 4.0 and 1700 mAh battery. It is also worth mentioning Orange Hiro ships with Android 4.2 Jelly Bean platform onboard.
