Today, UK wireless carrier Orange announced the launch of two new Android-based handsets on its airwaves, the Orange Barcelona and Stockholm, both featuring appealing designs and being capable of offering great performance capabilities to its customers.

The two new devices are now available for purchase via the wireless carrier's stores in the country, as well as online through the carrier's webstore, and should be followed by the Orange Monte Carlo handset before the summer is over.

Orange Barcelona lands on shelves with a 2.6" QVGA capacitive touchscreen display, a QWERTY keyboard and a 3.2-megapixel photo snapper on the back, as well as with support for 3G connectivity and for microSD memory cards of up to 16GB.

“The Barcelona from Orange is priced at just £99.99 on Orange pay as you go price plans and is also available across pay monthly price plans for both business and consumer customers – from £10 per month,” the wireless carrier notes.

The Orange Stockholm comes to the market with a 2.8” QVGA capacitive touchscreen display, while also packing a 3.2 megapixel photo snapper on the back.

Running under Android 2.2, the handset sports WiFi / Bluetooth / USB / SatNav / Signal boost capabilities, 120 MB of internal memory, 16GB Micro SD Card, support for 3G networks, messaging and email capabilities, all inside a device that measures 104 x 56 x 13 mm.

“Keen music fans are also catered for with the Stockholm featuring an MP3 player and built-in FM radio, so customers can listen to music whenever they want, wherever they want. The Stockholm from Orange is priced at £79.99 on pay as you go,” the carrier explains.

As for Orange Monte Carlo, it would arrive later this year as a feature-packed Android device, with a 4.3" capacitive touchscreen, and an 800 MHz processor inside, a 5MP camera on the back, and Google's Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system on board.

The handset will also come with HD Voice and Orange Signal Boost capabilities, as well as with Digital Living Network Alliance certification. Specific info on its pricing should emerge closer to the availability.
