Oracle, the giant software development company, announced that it has taken its long-lasting partnership with Nokia to a new level by offering new mobile interoperability with Nokia's products and technology.

The newly announced interoperability refers to three aspects:
Nokia Intellisync Device Management was validated by Oracle to work with the Siebel CRM platform; Oracle Database Lite is now compatible with Symbian 9 S60 3rd Edition; and Siebel Wireless now works with Nokia E90 Communicator, the high-end Eseries handset.

Oracle's Siebel Customer Relationship Management (CRM) applications are designed to help organizations in transforming the customer experience. The validation of Nokia Intellisync Device Management for the Siebel CRM platform brings high-end device management functionalities, including device configuration and application management (help desk, over the air provisioning, asset collection, recovery or theft-loss protection). Moreover, mobile users will be able to save time and also reduce expenses by easily creating new users, setting up GPRS/EDGE networks, send and receive new device management profiles, and send URLs to Siebel Wireless.

Oracle Database Lite's compatibility with Symbian 9 S60 3rd Edition enables Symbian mobile devices to work in occasionally-connected environments, synchronizing with back-end database servers at given times. Also, Oracle Database Lite comes with organized application, device and user provisioning, plus management and mobile application tools that allow developers to create advanced mobile enterprise applications for the Symbian platform.

By supporting Siebel Wireless, the Nokia E90 Communicator now offers users extended access to Siebel eService Wireless, Siebel Sales Wireless, Siebel Partner Relationship Management Wireless and Siebel Field Service Wireless. This way, an increased adaptability for viewing and editing CRM data is offered.

Anthony Lye, Senior Vice President of CRM Development at Oracle, said: "Over the past five years, Oracle and Nokia have worked together for one common goal - to achieve seamless interoperability between our products and enable developers and end-users to gain the greatest potential from the use of Oracle and Nokia technologies together. Our latest support and capabilities for Siebel CRM Mobile with Nokia technologies and devices helps customers realize further usability, efficiencies, and freedom."
