Oracle rolled out a new build for VirtualBox, incrementing the version number to 4.1.20. This is a scheduled maintenance release designed to improve stability; it is available for all supported platforms.

Some crash causes have been eliminated, among which a rare one that occurred under rare circumstances for virtual machines running without hardware virtualization. On the same note, restoring an old snapshot when powering off a VM should no longer disrupt the program.

Additional fixes touch on components such as the para-virtualized network adapter (virtio-net) so that packet loss in host-to-VM transfers is averted when receiving of GSO packets in Windows XP guests.

In the current release the clipboard is disabled by default for the new virtual machines. On Mac OS hosts, the developer made the necessary adaptations for Mountain Lion operating system.
