Oracle Announces Java SE 7 Update 6 for OS X

Oracle has announced Java Standard Edition 7 Update 6 (Java SE 7 Update 6) for OS X. In addition of full availability of Java SE 7 Update 6 on OS X, Oracle is providing the Java Runtime Environment (JRE) and the Java Development Kit (JDK), as well as the JavaFX 2.2 rich client platform and JavaFX Scene Builder.

Oracle informs that customers will soon be able to download the JRE for OS X from Java.com, and that the company will provide auto-updates for Mac users at the same time as for Windows platforms.

Starting with SE7 Update 6, JavaFX will be fully integrated into Oracle's Java SE implementation. This helps ensure that JavaFX runtime libraries are present on millions of desktops worldwide, according to the company.

The package is also fully supported and recommended for Oracle Fusion Middleware.
