As expected, Samsung and Optus have just released the hotly-anticipated Android 4.1 Jelly Bean upgrade for the Galaxy S III.

We reported last week that the Australian carrier had approved the update received from Samsung and is readying for the rollout of Android 4.1 Jelly Bean upgrade.

Today, the folks over at Ausdroid claim they’ve been hearing reports that Optus has just kicked off the rollout of the promised Jelly Bean upgrade for Samsung Galaxy S III.

The update is pushed through OTA (over the air), in wave, which means it will take some time for all Optus Galaxy S III owners to receive it.

In the same piece of news, Jelly Bean for Galaxy S II has been approved as well and Optus claims the update will be rolled out in early January.
