Just over a year ago, an OEM agreement was signed between Optenet and Kaspersky Lab, the world-renowned provider of antivirus and other Internet security software solutions. The partnership is an important step for Optenet in its endeavor to reach new clients and complete its impressive ISP portfolio. Optenet felt that Kaspersky Lab antivirus technology was the perfect choice to integrate into its Security Suite. Meanwhile, the antivirus vendor believed that the partnership would open the door to new opportunities in the ISP segment worldwide. Both organizations have been proved right, and a few months ago, Telef?nica do Brasil chose to offer Optenet Security Suite, powered by Kaspersky Lab, to its Internet clients (numbering more than 1,300,000). The solution is now available on the Brazilian market under two Telef?nica brand names: Seguran?a Speed and Dr. Speedy.

Optenet Security Suite includes Optenet's famous parental control tool based on its proprietary web filtering technology, an Applications Firewall it has developed to control protocols (P2P, Emule, Kazaa, Chats, Webmail, Instant Messenger, etc), and, Kaspersky Labs famous antivirus and antispyware technology. The high quality and effectiveness of all the components combined with its user-friendly interface make Optenet Security Suite the perfect choice for ISPs. "There are various reasons why we wanted to work with Kaspersky Lab," explains Natalia G?mez, Marketing and Channel Director for Optenet, "but the most important factors were the antivirus engine's efficacy, the development team's response-time to new threats, the anti-spyware capability, and the company's desire to collaborate on new opportunities. Telef?nica do Brasil is a good example of this last point."

"During the year of our partnership with Optenet we were delighted to see the company achieve such rapid success with Optenet Security Suite, winning over more and more major ISP tenders. We are pleased that Kaspersky Lab's integrated technology contributed to the ISP market penetration and we are ready to support further marketing initiatives from Optenet," commented Vitaly Bezrodnykh, Business Development Director at Kaspersky Lab.
