Oprah Winfrey has been looking slimmer and healthier in recent weeks and that's all down to a new diet implemented by her new chef, says a new report.

The talk show personality has struggled with her weight and her health for most of her adult life and, not surprisingly, the stress of launching her own network and, most importantly, of not seeing it successful, did not help with her figure.

She's gained some weight since she ended her famous talk show and moved on to a bigger, bolder project of which she admitted herself she wasn't ready yet for.

However, Oprah is working hard to get her body back, a report in the National Enquirer (story via the Daily Mail) says.

She's been eating healthily and working out regularly again (with personal trainer Bob Greene) and the results have not failed to appear: she's dropped 25 pounds (11.3 kg) in just 6 weeks.

It's a good start and, what's more important, it feels the right thing to do: Oprah is more motivated than ever.

“Oprah has absolutely flipped for the new chef,” says the spy. He's put her on a diet that is low-calorie but filling at the same time, combining fruit and veggies, fish and lean meat.

“It's low in fat and calories, but still leaves her feeling full,” the insider explains.

“Deep down, Oprah knew she had the willpower to lose it again if she took the right approach, and she's finally found a plan she really likes,” the spy further says.

“This program is a lifestyle change and it stresses eating the right kind of foods to sustain energy and good health,” adds the same source.

In the past, Oprah admitted to turning to food for comfort, which means she's gaining weight when she's stressed out or particularly upset.

She also has a thyroid problem that was diagnosed in 2008, but she's always been very honest about the main reason her weight yo-yos: “I use food for the same reasons an addict uses drugs: to comfort, to soothe, to ease stress.”
