Worldwide leading publisher and developer of connected applications Hands-On Mobile, Inc. recently announced the launch of a new application for mobile phones, namely Oprah Mobile. Available for handsets like the Apple iPhone, RIM's BlackBerry, Palm Pre or those running under Google's Android OS, the fresh software solution enables devoted fans to connect with Oprah Winfrey whenever and wherever they want.

“With a presence that spans television, print, film and radio, we are delighted that we can now offer a mobile digital experience that will allow millions of Oprah fans to engage and connect in a new way,” said Erik Logan, president of Harpo Studios. The software solution has been designed to enable users easily interact with Oprah.com. Those interested in downloading and purchasing the application can do so from the app stores for their mobile OS.

Some of the main features of the application include video clips and previews from The Oprah Winfrey Show. At the same time, the solution offers fans the possibility to find out what time and channel the show is playing in their location, no matter where they are around the United States. Not to mention that they can also participate in exclusive weekly polls, read articles, listen to audio clips or view photo galleries from Oprah.com, O, The Oprah Magazine and Oprah Radio.

Users will be offered the possibility to keep up with Oprah's tweets, while being alerted to log to the website as soon as show tickets are made available for the 25th and final season. Those who would like to learn more on the software solution should head over to Oprah.com/mobile. The Oprah Mobile app is available via the App Store, App World, App Catalog, and in the Android Market.

“Being given the opportunity to take part of the Oprah universe to mobile is a great honor,” said Scott Scherer, vice president and general manager of mobile applications at Hands-On Mobile. “We've worked closely with the Harpo team to create an app that will serve as a one-stop-shop for Oprah's digital audience to access and share great online content.”
