There will be lots of visual changes in the update

In an attempt to quench customers’ thirst for the next major update based on Android 5.0 Lollipop, Chinese company offered a glimpse at ColorOS 2.1 design.

As mentioned earlier, the new version is based on Lollipop, so it should bring lots of the new features and improvements included in Google's new OS.

Judging by the screenshots published by Oppo, the visual changes will be radical in ColorOS 2.1 with changes to the default icon design and redesigns to the second level interface.

Many subtle changes have been implemented as well, especially when it comes to icons and colors, which are not looking brighter and more energetic. The icons are now simpler and make the whole system look much more appealing.

Oppo also states that it has selected 12 new wallpapers for the ColorOS 2.1, so users can choose from a wider range when the new version of the OS is made available.

No word yet on when the new update will be released

These are all the changes confirmed by Oppo in regards with ColorOS 2.1, but it's not the only information we got concerning the company's products.

It looks like the Chinese OEM has finally decided to offer a straight answer to those who are still wondering whether or not their Oppo smartphones will receive the highly anticipated Android 5.0 Lollipop update, in this case ColorOS 2.1.

The folks over at AndroidPolice have just received a short email in which Oppo confirms which smartphones won't be getting the update. There are three Oppo smartphones that will not be provided with a Lollipop update R819, N1 and Find 5.

So, these smartphones will remain on ColorOS 2.0, or whatever version of ColorOS they are running now, and there's nothing we can do.

Hopefully, Oppo will backtrack on this statement, but we doubt that will be the case since the company hasn't even responded to customers asking about the update on its official forum.
