Oppo Find 7 is one of the most popular high-end Android smartphones the Chinese company launched in the last couple of years. However, the smartphone was released less than a year ago with Android 4.3 Jelly Bean operating system out of the box.

This is one of the phone's main downsides since Jelly Bean OS was really old even when the Oppo Find 7 made it to market back in May 2014.

Another problem was that Oppo failed to confirm that the smartphone would eventually receive more software updates that would bring all the new features and improvements added by Google.

Last but not least, Google has already released Android 5.0 Lollipop and many flagship smartphones already run the new version of the mobile platform, while Oppo is now announcing a beta version of ColorOS 2.0 is now available for download.

For those unaware, the ColorOS 2.0 is based on Android 4.4 KitKat operating system, so when the final version is deployed to Find 7, the smartphone's software will still be behind competition.

Oppo Find 7 owners should know that ColorOS 2.0.7i Beta is focusing on fixing bugs and stabilization, but some new features and optimization suggested by fans have been included as well.

A Lollipop update is still far from release

There are quite a lot of changes in this beta, but some of the most important include added support for external SD card using ext4 format, which will allow users to copy files larger than 4GB, as well as optimized volume control experience.

The latter provides Oppo Find 7 owners with the option to control the Ringtone and Notification volume separately. The alarm clock has been optimized too, and Oppo confirmed it has increased the maximum number of alarm clocks from 10 to 30.

The memory cleanup app has been optimized, so the apps appearing in the white list and when adding apps to the white list will be sorted alphabetically.

Quite a lot of bug fixes have been announced as well, so if you want to take a look at the full ColorOS Beta 2.0 changelog, then make sure to head over to the original thread.
