Today, Chinese mobile phone maker Oppo has officially announced the upcoming availability of the Oppo N1 smartphone in India, with a price tag of Rs. 39,999 ($637/€469) attached to it.

This is the first device that the company is launching in this market, though more should follow, the vendor said at an event in New Delhi.

The smartphone comes to the market with a 5.9-inch 1080p screen, a 1.7GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 with Adreno 320 GPU, and 2GB of RAM.

Moreover, it features 16GB / 32GB of internal memory, a 3610mAh battery, and support for 3G networks, in addition to WiFi, Bluetooth, and USB OTG. It also includes WiFi Direct and WiFi Display support.

Oppo N1 sports a 13-megapixel camera with dual-LED flash and full HD video recording, which can be rotated to act like a front camera too. The phone measures 170.7 x 82.6 x 9 mm and weighs 213 grams.

The handset has a rear touch sensor for one-handed usage, along with a Bluetooth accessory that allows users to control it from a distance.

The main selling point of the device is the fact that it comes with native support for CyanogenMod software out of the box.

The phone comes to the market with Oppo’s own Color OS loaded on top, which is based on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, but allows users to easily install the aforementioned custom ROM on it, courtesy of an unlocked bootloader.

In fact, Oppo also announced the availability of a Limited Edition CyanogenMod-based flavor of the handset, and it appears that users in India will be able to acquire it as well, gadgetstouse reports.

Oppo N1 is set to become available for purchase in India in the coming days with the aforementioned price tag attached to it. Stay tuned to learn more on its availability.
