Chinese mobile phone maker Oppo will be among the first vendors in the world to have a 2k smartphone available on shelves when its Find 7 handset lands.

The company started hinting at the upcoming device last week, and it has posted a new teaser image, one that claims a 2k screen on this smartphone.

The mobile phone will arrive as an upgrade for the Oppo Find 5, which features a 5-inch full HD (1080 x 1920 pixel) screen, though no specific info on this device’s screen size has been provided as of now.

However, previous rumors on the matter suggested that Find 7 could be released with a 5.7-inch screen, which we now know would be able to deliver a 2560 x 1440 pixels resolution.

“#Find5 was the world’s first smartphone with a 5” 1080p display. #Find7 is taking it one step further,” Oppo said on Twitter, attaching to its post the image embedded above.

This clearly suggests that the upcoming smartphone will be a highly appealing flagship from the Chinese maker. The rest of the phone’s hardware specifications, only rumored for the time being, will complement its screen.

Thus, we might see Oppo Find 7 arriving on the market with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor inside, paired with 3GB of RAM.

Furthermore, the handset is expected to feature a 13-megapixel camera on the back, complemented by a 5MP front camera, Phandroid notes.

Other specs of the yet unofficial device include a 4000mAh battery, along with support for 4G LTE networks, making it the first handset from Oppo to include the capability.

No specific details on when Oppo Find 7 might be officially announced have emerged until now, but it might not be too long before that happens, considering that Oppo is already teasing it. Chances are that it will be unveiled at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas next month.
