Just a few hours have passed since Oppo made available for purchase the highly anticipated BDP-93 3D Blu-ray player and now, the company has just announced another such unit, the BDP-95 that promises to deliver better analog audio sound, catering to the needs of audiophiles everywhere.

Compared to the just-released BDP-93, this latest Oppo Blu-ray player features much the same specifications apart from a SABRE 32-bit DAC, a toroidal power supply and an all new chassis, all designed to deliver improved analog audio performance.

Targeting the high-end consumers and professional studios alike, the SABRE32 Reference ES9018 DAC from ESS Technology can offer a dynamic range of 135dB, a THD+N (Total Harmonic Distortion plus Noise) level of -120dB as well as 7.1-channel output.

Combined with the Rotel-built toroidal power transformer and the dedicated stereo output that made their way into Oppo's 3D Blu-ray player, this should provide an impressive sound quality without any sort of interferences.

In addition, the high quality sound will also be accompanied by great picture quality as the BDP-95 is built using Marvell's Kyoto-G2 video processor that offers a wide range of image enhancements as well as excellent deinterlacing and 1080p upscaling for DVD playback, if implemented properly.

Netflix and Blockbuster on Demand video streaming is also enabled together with wireless and Ethernet connectivity, just as the BDP-93 before it, the BDP-95 featuring dual HDMI inputs and outputs, an eSATA port and dual USB connectors.

All these are accompanied by support for a various range of video and audio files, including MKV, FLAC and DivX, SACD, DVD Audio Disc and 24p video playback, a source direct mode as well as a backlit remote control.

No details are available as far as pricing is concerned, but Oppo's website states the BDP-95 will become available in February 2011. (via engadget)
