The development team at BioWare has announced that this weekend the multiplayer mode of Mass Effect 3 would get a new Operation called OVERDRIVE, which will take place between October 5 and 7.

The official description of the new content reads: “Based on intel recovered during Operation PATRIOT, we are anticipating a massive strike from the Reapers on multiple fronts. Our information officers and special-ops teams stationed behind enemy lines require immediate extraction.”

The goal for any squad that plays Mass Effect 3 requires players to get a full extraction on any map at any difficulty level in less than 20 minutes.

The goal for the entire player base is to reach 200,000 extractions on any difficulty, without the requirement for all players to get out alive.

Each squad qualifies for a Commendation Pack if they reach their own goal, while game-wide success will also get them a Victory Pack, each of them filled with in-game weapons, characters and mods.
