Opera released a new snapshot for the upcoming major version of the web browser. The new build brings to the table some pretty important changes, such as hardware acceleration fixes. It also includes all the repairs available in version 11.62.

Apart from repairs and improvements, build 1359 of Opera 12 (32-bit and 64-bit versions available) also encompasses the ability to monitor and show the amount of processor it uses (Opera Process Usage). The instrument is similar to Chrome’s Task Manager, but in Opera only CPU usage per tab is shown.

Typing opera:cpu in the address bar gets you access to these details. Some basic settings let you increase or decrease the page update frequency. There is also the possibility to halt the updates altogether.
