Today, Norwegian software giant Opera announced the release of a new flavor of its Opera Mini and Opera Mobile browsers, one that is available for all devices on which the two applications were already installed.

We're referring here to the new Opera Mini version 6.5, the one that landed on Android several weeks ago, and which is now available for the owners of devices powered by mobile operating systems that include BlackBerry, iOS, S60, and J2ME.

Moreover, Opera announced the release of the new Opera Mobile version 11.5 for the owners of devices powered by the Symbian S60 platform.

A new, special edition of Opera Mobile is available for MeeGo users as well, coming out from Opera Labs, Opera's Espen André Øverdahl explains in a recent post on MyOpera.

The main feature that the new versions of Opera Mini and Opera Mobile arrive on devices with is Data Usage view, which was packed inside the Android flavors of the app as well.

Through it, users can have a look at the data that these browsers have helped them save.

“The new feature included in all versions is Data Usage view. This allows you to see how much data you have saved by using Opera on your phone,” the aforementioned blog post explains.

“A counter on ww.opera.com/mobile now shows the combined amount of Internet data saved by millions of Opera Mini and Opera Mobile users. If you want to see how much you have saved, go to Help » Data Usage.”

The new browser releases also come with a star button in the URL field, so that users can bookmark any web page with a simple click.

Those who have Opera Mobile installed on their devices will also benefit from an improved Opera Turbo, as well as from additional video support.
