Android users out there who have had the chance to try out Opera Max should already know that it allows them to enjoy great data savings when running various software on their devices.

However, not all of them might be aware of the fact that there are some applications that will work great with Opera Max, and Opera appears set to make sure that this changes.

In fact, the company has already published a blog post to detail five of the free applications that would work just great with Opera Max.

All five apps heavily rely on Internet connectivity, which means that the Opera Max can easily prove a great option for those interested in saving as much data as they can, even when enjoying the capabilities of such software.

“Vine perfectly demonstrates the power of Opera Max. The user base of this video-sharing app has exploded over the last year,” the company notes in the aforementioned blog post.

“The problem is that these videos will often consume your data plan and, ultimately, cost you a lot of money. With Opera Max, however, you can keep on trucking through those six-second video clips.”

Flipboard is another piece of software that should benefit a lot from Opera Max, the company notes. Given that the app allows users to access news while on the go with ease, saving as much data as possible when staying connected to info will certainly prove a great option for users.

“The Flipboard app lets you organize the info you want to look at, then flip through it like you would a magazine. It’s a beautiful app that works hand-in-hand with Opera Max,” Opera notes.

Next, there’s Mixbit, an app coming from the founders of YouTube, which was released as a video-app that allows users to easily create, edit, and share videos straight from their phones.

With Opera Max enabled, videos will be compressed when sent to the web over a mobile data connection, which makes it a great companion of Mixbit too, the company notes.

“To stay up to date, try News Republic. This app aggregates the biggest news stories. For tech news, Appy Geek with its clever user-interface is a good choice,” Opera had to say about the last two apps on the list.

Moreover, the Internet giant explains that Opera Max has been designed so as to auto-detect expensive data, which means that it will not interfere when data is free.

Additionally, users can also set Opera Max to detect when they are roaming or out of their network and prevent apps from using any expensive data.

Those of you who did not have the change to try out Opera Max for Android can download it from Softpedia today. It is compatible with all devices running under Android 4.0 or later.
