Opera Software and 4INFO announced an expansion of their current relationship to create sports-based versions of the free
mobile browser Opera Mini. After the success of the World Cup version, Opera Mini Goal '06, the companies have introduced the Opera Mini Endzone '06 mini browser, which is tailored to NFL, NCAA, and fantasy football. The sports-specific browsers provide access to text alerts for live scores, news, and statistics for their respective sports.

The Opera Mini Endzone '06 browser uses 4INFO's WAP-based infrastructure, allowing users to set mobile text alerts for player stats and game scores. It also provides direct links to NFL, NCAA, and fantasy football mobile sites.

"4INFO and Opera, in combination, put more power and control into the hands of the mobile phone user," says Zaw Thet, CEO of 4INFO. "This partnership is about access to information and the ease of managing it right from your phone."

"Opera Mini was always intended for this kind of use," says Jon von Tetzchner, CEO, Opera Software. "This powerful small Web browser lets anyone with a mobile phone and a data plan break into the real Web to get their needed information on the go. Opera Mini Endzone '06 takes the extra step by customizing the experience for football fans."

Opera Mini Endzone '06 is available free of charge by sending an SMS with the text "opera" to 44636 or via download at mini.opera.com/endzone.
