Today, Opera and teXet, the leading Russian electronic devices manufacturer, announced an agreement based on which the Opera Mini and Opera Mobile browsers will be loaded on the company’s Android phones and tablets. The two companies also announced that both of these browsers were expected to be preinstalled on teXet devices starting this month.

Through the availability of these applications on teXet’s Androids right from the start, users will benefit from fast access to the mobile web, the duo announced.

Owned by Electronic Systems Alkotel, teXet is a fast growing mobile device brand in Russia, offering both smartphones and tablet PCs that run under Google’s Android operating system.

“The browser has become one of the main differentiators on the competitive market of Android phones,” said Dmitry Sitnikov, software manager, Electronic Systems Alkotel, Ltd.

“With our latest line of advanced handsets powered by super-fast Opera technology, we’re entering the world of mobile in a big way, giving our consumers the best web experience for a reasonable price.”

The company’s devices, including the flagship model, teXet TM-5200, will include special flavors of Opera’s mobile browsers for Yandex.

The Yandex Opera Mini and Yandex Opera Mobile browser pack all of the features and capabilities of the original apps, and also include Yandex’s search technologies.

Opera also notes that Opera Mini has the largest number of users from Russia, and that it experiences continuous usage growth in the area (a 40 percent increase in usage in 2011 compared to 2010).

“The number of Opera’s users on Android is booming nowadays. The reason is simple: intuitive, fast and cost-efficient browsing smoothly integrated with the Android platform,” said Lars Boilesen, CEO, Opera Software.

“We are happy to welcome another manufacturer choosing our browsers for their customers. By combining the world’s number-one mobile operating system with the world’s top mobile browser, teXet is meeting the latest market expectations.”
