Today, Norwegian software designer Opera Software announced the release of an updated version of one of their web browsers for mobile phones, the Opera Mobile 10.1 for Symbian.

According to the company, this release is a silent one, and was aimed at all devices running under the Symbian^3 and Symbian S60 operating system flavors.

“Today we released a "silent" update for Opera Mobile 10.1 for Symbian/S60. The update specifically addressed a few critical issues discovered on Symbian^3 devices,” a recent post on Opera Mobile blog reads.

According to the said blog post, all of the fixes included in the new release are based on user feed-back, and should result in a greatly improved experience on all Symbian/S60 mobile phones out there.

The release notes for the new flavor of Opera Mobile 10.1, compared to the Opera Mobile 10.1 final version released not too long ago, includes:

- Predictive text can be activated while writing password - Fixed crashing when typing in password dialog using Sougou keyboard - Fixed crashing when using predictive text and system keyboard - Fixed issues with spelling keyboard not disappearing - Fixed issues with backspace deleting all text in edit field when text isn't selected - Fixed bug where previous virtual key searches do not highlight correctly

According to the aforementioned blog post, all of these changes in the company's mobile browser are Symbian^3 specific.

The Opera Mobile 10.1 browser is only one of the software solutions that the company released for Symbian mobile phones out there, in addition to Opera Mini, which is currently the most popular mobile browser in the world, according to Opera.

Moreover, we should note that Opera Mobile 10.1 was released for handsets running under Google's Android operating system as well.

Those Symbian phone owners who use Opera Mobile 10.1 on their devices and would like to download the latest version of the application would find it available on Softpedia too, via this link.
