Opera Mobile 10.1 Beta for Android Release, Download Here

Today, Norwegian company Opera Software has made available for download a new version of its Opera Mobile browser, one designed specifically for handsets running under Google's Android operating system, namely Opera Mobile 10.1 Beta for Android.

The application was made available for download for free, in an attempt to enhance the mobile browing experience of even more users out there, the company notes.

“Android users now have a better choice when it comes to using a browser on their mobile devices,” said Lars Boilesen, CEO, Opera Software. “With Opera’s new browser for Android, we give users the opportunity to access the Web, using the best tools available.”

According to Opera, its Android browser comes with the speed and functionality that all Android users out there are looking for.

“[Android users are] known for their demands for new and improved software for their handsets, as well as an almost emotional relationship to their phones. Now, they have the opportunity to run Opera Mobile, made by a company that shares their passion for a better browser,” the company stated.

Some of the main features Opera Mobile 10.1 Beta for Android comes with include:

- Easy tab management with visual tabs
- Opera Presto rendering engine
- Sync your bookmarks across devices with Opera Link
- Ability to be set as the default browser
- Geolocation support
- SVG support

Opera Mobile arrives on Android with a series of features that are already familiar to desktop users of Opera, including Speed Dial, so that they can easily access their favorite websites, or the password manager that saves time, especially on the small screen of handsets.

At the same time, the browser comes with Opera Turbo, which offers data compression of up to 80 percent, and which can prove a great option for mobile users and wireless carriers out there.

The company also announced that Opera Mobile for Android was made available in 18 languages: Chinese Simplified, Chinese Traditional, Czech, Danish, Dutch, English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Norwegian Bokmål, Norwegian Nynorsk, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish and Swedish.
