We have recently reported on the latest Opera Browser update for Android devices and now it looks like its little sibling, the Opera Mini, has just received the same treatment.

Android users who already have Opera Mini installed on their devices will surely want to update to the latest version as soon as possible given the new features that developers have confirmed for this iteration.

While the latest Opera Mini build has already been pushed to Google Play Store, the official changelog only mentions that it contains “a variety of bug fixes, along with stability and performance improvements.”

Luckily, the good folks at Opera have posted in-depth details on the changes included in Opera Mini 7.5.4 for Android devices. Here are some of the new features that Opera Mini users will be able to take advantage of immediately after applying the update.

First of all, Android users that rock top-tier smartphones that boast stunning high-resolution displays will be pleased to know that Opera Mini now offers support for these high-quality screens.

This Opera Mini build is mainly aimed at phablets users, but also at those who use devices powered by Google’s latest Android 4.4 KitKat operating system.

According to Opera, thanks to the changes included in this update, users “won’t have to get their fingertips surgically modified to press tiny buttons.”

In addition, developers have confirmed that they have managed to fix an issue reported by tech-savvy users that’s related to the Art (Android Runtime) support.

Since Android 4.4 KitKat now features an additional runtime option that increases performance for compatible applications, Opera decided that it would be wise to address some of the performance issues of its Mini browser to support the new Art compiler.

As you may already know, Art compiles ahead of time, unlike the current Dalvik compiler. That should translate into better performance when working with one or more applications.

In order to make Opera Mini compatible with the Art compiler, the application needed a few tweaks. Well, it appears that the new build includes these needed tweaks, so KitKat users should immediately notice some improvements regarding performance and speed of execution.

Last but not least, Opera has confirmed that it has fixed several issues related to right-to-left languages, as well as some smaller issues in order to make the browser run much smoother.

New users can now download Opera Mini for Android 7.5.4 for free via Softpedia. The mobile browser has been confirmed to work on just about any device powered by Android 1.5 and up.
