Opera Software and INQ have just announced the signing of an agreement aimed at the inclusion of the Opera Mini mobile browser in INQ's smartphones running under Android, as well as on the company's phones based on the BREW platform. The mobile browser is already available on a wide range of mobile phones out there, and the new agreement is meant to put it on even more of them.
According to the duo, the first INQ handsets to include the Opera Mini browser should arrive on the market in March in the UK, and should then be rolled-out to Australia and other markets.
“At
Opera, we are always trying to get our browsers on as many devices as possible, and we are excited to work with INQ and serve its customers,” said Lars Boilesen, CEO, Opera Software.
The Opera Mini browser is the most popular mobile browser at the moment, enjoying a number if over 90 million active users all around the world.
The application sports a series of unique features, including Speed Dial, tabbed browsing, password manager and Opera Link, through which users can synchronize their bookmarks across multiple devices.
All of these capabilities can easily prove that
Opera Mini is a better option when compared to the native browser on mobile phones.
At the same time, we should note that the browser offers significant speed increases through the included compression technology, meant to shrink webpages by up to 90 percent.
Thus, Opera Mini offers both enhanced browsing speeds even on slow networks, as well we important cost savings, of up to 90 percent when paying per MB of usage.
“INQ has been born out of the Internet, and having a great browser for mobile has been something we wanted to get right,” said Frank Meehan, INQ CEO.
“We’ve worked with some great partners in the development of the INQ Cloud Touch, and
Opera has been one which shares similar values around making things fast and simple.”
