An updated flavor of the Opera Max application is now available for download for the owners of Android-based devices, providing users with a nice range of new features and capabilities.

For those out of the loop, we should note that the mobile app was released at the beginning of this year as a new means to save data on smartphones.

The software is available for download for free, enabling users to save up to 50 percent more data on their wireless carrier’s network, depending on the applications they use to access the Internet while on the go.

The application was released in a beta flavor, and still hasn’t shed the beta tag as of now, but it is already available for Android users in 46 countries out there, as Opera notes in a blog post.

Those who would like to grab it and start saving data on their devices should head over to the Opera Max Google Plus community and join. There, they can also offer feedback on the features they would like to see in the app, as well as on what should be improved about it.

The new application iteration was made available for download with a new share option in the main menu, which provides users with the possibility to let others know how they are saving data. Users can send their saving stats either via text or via a screenshot with a simple tap.

Additionally, Opera Max for Android now sports a Disconnect button in the main menu, which should provide users with the option to easily turn off the VPN in-tray notification. Toggling the button will automatically close the app and the associated VPN connection.

Additionally, the mobile software sports a Do not show again option to the Turn savings on startup screen. When checking the box, owners of Android devices will opt out of reminders when they reboot phones.

Following the update, you will also see that the welcome screen now sports a prediction of how much data you can save. The prediction is based on the applications that are running on the phone.

Another enhancement brought to the application is related to the number of languages it supports, as Polish, Norwegian, Spanish, German, and French have been added to the list.

According to Opera, they are also working on adding more useful stats and details to the timeline, with Opera Max displaying background data stats between the timeline card entries.

Moreover, the company explains that the bug report process has been streamlined, and that a short survey has been added for those who want to uninstall the beta. Users are encouraged to deliver feedback on the app, since improvements will be added in new releases based on that.

The updated Opera Max for Android also comes with a series of stability and performance bug fixes. You can find the mobile application listed in the Google Play store as version 0.9.655, with support for Android 4.0 and up devices.
