“Adblock is fully working again, tabs on Mac won’t do the Harlem Shake on hover anymore”

Opera 21.0.1432.5 was released about an hour ago for Mac and Windows testers, lacking a proper set of release notes and arriving with virtually no documentation regarding the latest tweaks and enhancements.

However, minutes ago, Piotr, who works as a QA on the Engine in the Opera Desktop division, has released a lengthy blog post with information about the latest changes in Opera 21 Dev.

“At first, I would like to present to you our latest Opera Developer build – 21.0.1432.5, which contains a few important fixes – Adblock is fully working again, tabs on Mac won’t do the Harlem Shake on hover anymore, and a couple of crashes are fixed,” writes Piotr, who then directs visitors to the changelog for the full scoop.

Those who aren’t tempted to skip the rest of the lecture are promised a sneak peek of the team’s latest strivings for improving start-up time, “especially helpful when restoring session with many tabs.” It’s a rather technical post. Being a developer helps in deciphering it.

Many of the new enhancements are “still under heavy development,” and developers are encouraged to offer their impressions to the Opera Desktop team.

Testers are also told to remember that the browser needs a restart to make flags active: “so, for example #session-tabs-serialization, which makes a lot of work during browser shut down, will be applied after second restart.”
