Opera Buys a D-Level US Hockey Team

Being a Norwegian company, most of Opera's employees are fairly used to the cold, snow and ice. Perhaps that's why the company decided to buy a hockey team in the US.

"Today we announced our first-ever partnership with a sports team. Meet the Boston Sitniks, an up-and-coming hockey team in the US, comprised mostly of Russian players," Opera said.

It's not just any hockey team though, the Boston Sitniks are raking up an impressive list of losses at the D-level, the lowest division, they play.

For some reason, Opera believed it had a link with the team, comprised mostly of Russian-born players, and will sponsor its efforts from now on. Perhaps it was the fact that Opera is very popular in Russia.

"The goal of the partnership is to further strengthen our presence in the US, and to draw synergies from the great spirit of the team," the company added.
