Opera Software has released the Mac OS X version of its browser. From the statements of the company's representatives, it seems that this edition of the browser is the fastest ever.
The success of the Windows version of the browser is indisputable, considering that in the first two weeks since its
release, Opera 8 has succeeded to exceed the 2 million download threshold.
Opera claims this last Apple version is designed in the according to every Macintosh requirements, the browser offering support for Human Interface Guidelines and Full Keyboard Access. The collaboration between Opera and Apple has started in 2001, when the Norwegians released their first Macintosh version of their browser.
The Mac OS X version of the browser includes the same functions as the Windows or Linux editions, which have been available since mid April. Among the novelties included in Opera 8, we mention: "delete private data" and "recycle bin" which saves the closed pages and blocks pop-ups during one session.
