The Opera developers have released a new version of their Internet browser in the 25.x branch, and they have implemented a default PDF viewer.

Opera is based on Chromium and that means that updates for the browser are made quite often. Now, the developers have added a very interesting new feature that should prove very useful.

"Opera can now open PDF documents without the need to install and run any third-party plug-ins. Now, clicking links on pages that deviously lead to PDF documents won't disrupt your workflow, as your focus will remain in the same window. Opera's PDF solution is based on Chromium's PDFium," reads the official announcement.

According to the changelog, the basic memory allowance infrastructure has been reworked, the Opera frame has been changed to better fit the current theme, native dialog boxes are now positioned properly, it's no longer impossible to access menu on Unity with indicator-appmenu uninstalled, GNOME Classic and GNOME Fallback are no longer incorrectly detected as Unity, Alt+click now opens the menu on Alt key release, and the address bar autocomplete now works properly.

You can download Opera 25.0.1606.0 for Linux right now from Softpedia.

Remember that this is a development version and it should NOT be installed on production machines. It is intended for testing purposes only.
