New stable version of Opera web browser released for Mac and Windows

Opera Software ASA today released the latest stable version of its feature-packed web browser for Mac OS X computers and Windows PC users.

Featuring the same lovable OS X installer with the two little Norwegian forest critters inside, Opera 20.0.1387.64 Stable comes without an official changelog (at the time of this writing). I’d love to tell you what’s new but I’ve stopped using Opera about two years ago, and I’m not going back until they address the issues that still plague this admittedly well-done browser.

What I can tell you is that Opera 20 greets first-time users with a prompt to “help improve Opera by sending feature usage information,” and you have the option to tell them to bugger off or accept the invitation and allow the Norwegian company to receive your usage logs (fingers crossed for no deals with the NSA).

Recently updated with a new Chromium engine (1750.117), Opera 20 should feel right at home on any Intel-based Mac, but I still sense it to be sluggish even in this day and age. Use the links below to grab the goods, as usual. Leave a comment if you spot anything new or exciting.
