Opera 19 is now available for download for Windows and Mac OS users, coming with several new options and features that are supposed to contribute to an overall improved experience on either platform.
One of the most important improvements available in Opera 19 is the bookmarks bar, which gives you one-click access to your favorite websites.
It’s turned off by default, but you can easily enable it using the settings screen.
“This is a simple way of storing, accessing and modifying your bookmarks. For easy modification you can create bookmarks by dragging and dropping from tabs (windows only). Think of it like a quick access bar to get around fast to your favorite sites. Moreover, the full bookmarks API is also live now. Play with it and check it out!” the developing team said.
Another great thing offered by Opera 19 is the possibility to set different browser wallpapers, so you can now right-click an image and hit the “Use image as theme” to change the default background.
Extensions are also offered in case you want to enhance the functionality of the app, with the parent company claiming that users can currently choose from up to 700 items right now.More great features will be added soon, the developing team guarantees, as a new version of Opera Next is currently in the works and should be released soon.
“Within the next two weeks, we’ll promote the experimental Opera Developer build to the feature-complete Opera Next stream. The developer channel will be also updated to the newer version, so you can try out some new stuff.”
As you probably know, Opera comes with a built-in auto-update engine, but you can also download the new version manually using the links provided below.
