Last week, Opera Software launched a new update for the Next development channel informing that the revision is very close to being promoted to the release channel. Today, the company rolled out the stable version for Opera 16.

The full build number is 16.0.1196.62 and at the moment it has not been released officially, so the details about the changes it incorporates are skimpy.

The “What’s new” section in the help file consists of just three lines. They inform that location sharing now features geolocation capabilities, the auto-fill component fills in frequently-used forms and that Opera experiments (opera:flags) are now available.

Apart from this, it is safe to assume that Off-Road mode is fully functional as it has been repaired in the previous Next build. We also noticed that jumplists are supported on Windows 7 and 8.

[UPDATE]: Opera Software rolled out version 16 of their browser. Apart from what we mentioned above, significant changes also include support for presentation mode on Mac, improved stability and performance as well as the use of Chromium 29 engine.
