With Opera 12 safely out the door and even a minor update to it, Opera 12.01, the bulk of the team is working on the next major version, Opera 12.50, code-named Marlin, yet another fast fish. As is the norm, there have been several experimental, snapshot releases so far, intended for developers and enthusiast users.

The latest snapshot, build 1546, is here, and comes with several fixes and improvements. Several fixes that were already in Opera 12.01 are now included in the 12.50 builds, but there are several crash and performance fixes on top of those.

Some changes to the way pages are redrawn have been made, changing the "First Update Delay" and "Styled First Update Timeout" settings. Several more fixes to HTML5 drag and drop support have been implemented. The CSS3 gradients feature has been unprefixed. Some crashes with out-of-process plugins have been remedied as well.
