Opera has just released the snapshot for the upcoming version of their web browser, 12.50. Codenamed “Marlin,” Opera 12.50 announces some pretty interesting features.

Among the most notable of them is support for Clipboard API, which exposes new events to web applications, such as copy, cut, and paste for plain/html text content.

Also on the list is a redesigned keyboard event handling, which is now updated to DOM Events Level 3 and features modifications designed to improve key handling compatibility. There is also support for some -webkit prefixed CSS properties.

Currently, Mac users receive notifications for Opera through Growl alert system. However, in OS X 10.8 “Mountain Lion” notices are integrated in the Notification Center. Furthermore, settings are also available in System Preferences: Notification Center: Opera Next.

The release of this snapshot for Opera 12.50 (changelog here) is accompanied by another, from Opera Labs, which integrates experimental support for SPDY.
