The last snapshot for Opera 12.02 that rolled out a couple of days ago showed clear signs that the browser is very close to reaching release candidate stage. Today, the Norwegian developer pushed out the first RC.

Since this is an advanced stage of development he changelog comprises only repairs, and there is a small set of entries. The fixes address a crash problem that occurred when dragging a tab into a stack which contained another stack.

A Windows-specific issue referred to windowless plugins painting messages could prevent the browser from initiating the exit routine.

On Linux/FreeBSD, some plugins that were accessed via symlinks would crash, such as Java, while others could not be found.
