Fixes a handful of crash bugs, blocks VLC plug-in

The release candidate for Opera 11.61 has just arrived, with several fixes in the change list. This build does not come unexpected, as the development team announced the launch of a stable 11.61 at the end of December 2011.

Bug fixing dominates the set of modifications, with failure to use mouse wheel over iframe being at the top of the list. JavaScript crashes and freezing of the browser when loading a big session with the Tab Vault extension are also out of the picture.

Core modifications refer to crashes of Carakan (Opera’s ECMAScript/JavaScript engine), on WebGL benchmark, and Vega (the vector graphics library).

VLC plugin is currently blocked, due to the increased number of crashes.

Other crashes eliminated in this release candidate were caused by the mail module (closing of the mail window or unpinning the last message in the “Pinned” view). Check the full change log.
