Includes all the good parts Opera Next has to offer

It’s not a development of Opera Labs, it’s not a stable version of the Norwegian browser and it is not a Next release either. It is just a brief update (11.60 beta) before moving to Opera 12.00, codenamed “Tunny”, just because it is fast as a tuna, if not faster (that would be an interesting comparison).

The updates included in this release are quite significant, as they are shipped from the 12.00 snapshot because they just need a bit of brushing up in order to be ready for the regular user.

It sports the new HTML 5 parser (Ragnarök), a new version of the JavaScript engine and CSS3 radial gradients, which are all included in Next (Opera alpha) version.

Before installation, one piece of advice: it will replace Opera stable on the system. In order to install it separately, follow these steps (or check out the image in the gallery):

1. Start the installer and click on "Options" 2. Change "Install path" to a location you have write access to (do not use "Program Files") and make a suitably named new folder e.g. "Opera-11.6" 3. Change "Install for" to "Stand-alone installation (USB)"
