Opera Software is now working to synchronize the releases of all flavors of its browser, irrespective of the platforms they are designed to support. The latest development snapshot of the next minor update to Opera 10.50 is an illustrative example of the Norwegian browser maker’s efforts in this regard. Opera 10.52 Build 3337 is currently available for download for Windows, Mac OS X and Linux, after a long period in which the Windows flavor of the browser was favored over the other two variants.

With Opera 10.50, development was prioritized for the Windows platform, with the promise that the OS X and Linux versions would catch up in time. The alternative would have implied delayed Opera 10.50 Builds for Windows, in order to match the same pace as of the development snapshots for OS X and Linux.

“After several months of hectic schedule to get the windows 10.50 release out, we're now going to try to get snapshots in sync again, meaning releasing on all three platforms at the same time. This time we've got some really cool stuff like font bug fixes for both Mac and Unix,” Alexander Remen, Opera Mail developer, revealed.

The past week, early adopters were able to download and test Opera 10.52 Build 3333. At that time, the development snapshot did not allow testers to run Opera Unite. This issue has been fixed in Build 3337. However, users need to be aware that Opera 10.52 Build 3337 continues to be pre-release software and, as such, impacted by inherent problems.

“GTK skinning has received some more attention and we'd like some more feedback on that. If you are seeing a problem in the skin, let us know, and don't forget to mention which GTK theme you use. Several widget fixes also managed to get included in time,” Remen added.
