Firefox is not the only browser with recent stability and security updates available for download. While Mozilla is pushing Firefox 3.5.4 and Firefox 3.0.15 to customers, users of the latest iteration of the Opera browser, namely version 10.0, will be able to grab the first refresh issued since the software was released to web. The browser maker indicates that it strongly recommends all Opera 10.0 users to take advantage of the update released and of the enhancements offered.

“We published today Opera 10.01, a recommended stability and security update. Thanks to the new automated crashlogging in Opera 10, we collected a lot of the issues that users were seeing, and had a good tool not only to identify some crashers difficult to reproduce in controlled environments, but also to prioritise issues that were affecting a lot of users. A great Thank You to everybody submitting their logs,” noted Opera’s Claudio Santambrogio.

Opera 10.0 Final was released at the start of September 2009, designed to replace version 9.6. According to the Norway-based browser maker, Opera 10.0 enjoyed a consistent level of success, having been downloaded no less than 10 million times in just the first week since it was made available. Opera 10.01 comes at approximately two months since the release of the final version of Opera 10.0 and is the first security and stability update for v10.0.

Opera Software reveals that the changes and improvements since Opera 10.0 span across a variety of browser aspects including user interface, mail, news and chat capabilities, security, etc. But while ensuring that Opera 10.0 is kicked up a notch, the browser maker is already hard at work on the future version of Opera. Testers and early adopters have already been able to download and run Opera 10.10 Beta with Unite.
