OpenELEC, an embedded operating system built specifically to run XBMC, the open source entertainment media hub, is now at version 3.0 RC5.

This current development release is based on XBMC 12.0 Frodo, a free and open source (GPL) software media player and entertainment hub for digital media available for multiple platforms.

Highlights of OpenELEC 3.0 RC5:

• Some issues found in the previous RC4 release have been corrected; • A lot of bugfixes to XBMC Frodo have been added; • Some Network fixes have been implemented.

A complete list of changes can be found in the official announcement. According to the developers, this is one of the last release candidates before the final version.
