OpenELEC, an embedded operating system built specifically to run XBMC, the open source entertainment media hub, is now at version 3.0 RC4.

This current development release is based on XBMC 12.0 Frodo, a free and open source (GPL) software media player and entertainment hub for digital media available for multiple platforms.

Highlights of OpenELEC 3.0 RC4:

• A lot of bugfixes have been implemented from XBMC Frodo; • The Slideshow screensaver has been moved to the XBMC add-on repo; • The OpenELEC Wiki has been improved.

A complete list of changes can be found in the official announcement. According to the developers, this will be the last release candidate before the final version.
