OpenELEC, an embedded operating system built specifically to run XBMC, the open source entertainment media hub, is now at version 3.0.6.
This is just a maintenance release, with fixes for bugs introduced in OpenELEC 3.0.4 and not solved with OpenELEC 3.0.5. Users can upgrade from 2.9x.x or 3.x to 3.0.6.
Highlights of OpenELEC 3.0.6:
• PR2861 has been added; • The AUGUST DVB-T205 USB stick ID has been added in the rtl28xxu kernel module; • Support has been added for Mac mini and MacBook IR sensors; • Busybox now depends on rpcbind to do manual mounts;
The developers have also stated that this will be the penultimate version for ION 32-bit and Intel 32-bit users.
