According to ongoing reports, Ashton Kutcher cheated on his wife Demi Moore precisely on their 6th wedding anniversary. It wasn't the first time but it would be the last – however, it wasn't what killed their romance.

Just hours ago, Demi announced that she was filing for divorce, hinting in the statement that Ashton's infidelity was something she could no longer tolerate.

While she's trying to make it look as if that's what ended their marriage, the truth is that it wasn't, Radar Online reports, citing an unnamed source close to the former couple.

Apparently, they were never exclusive to be begin with. In fact, they had an open marriage, because Demi is also into women and she would often go outside the marriage to fulfill certain needs she had.

It was the open marriage that ruined the relationship, the spy says.

“Everyone in Hollywood knows about their arrangement, but they’ve managed to keep it a secret from the general public,” the insider says.

This is why they always came across as such a loving, exclusive couple: because they'd go to great lengths to keep their secret from the media.

“Demi is attracted to women just as much as men, so she didn’t always get all she needed from Ashton,” the tipster explains.

“She was cool with Ashton having flirtatious relationships too. Somehow they made it work all these years. Both of them were respectful of each other. It was a lot of fun for them,” dishes the insider.

Everything started going down the drain when word first got out that Ashton was sleeping around a lot. This was last year.

This year's cheating scandal was the last straw, the report argues. In other words, Radar is suggesting that, had this not gotten out in the press, Demi would have stayed married to Ashton.

Radar goes on to promise more details on the special arrangement the two made when they tied the knot in the latest print issue of Star magazine, but rest assured you'll also find out more about it here.
