New Game World has recently revealed that the Open Beta test for their new MMORPG, ImmortalsUSA has commenced. The announcement comes pretty late, given that the Beta supposedly had a green light on the 3rd of August. However, the report doesn't say when the open beta ends, so hurry up and register for an account while you still can at this site.

"The Immortals experience
is an exciting and dynamic epic MMO adventure inside ancient Chinese mythology." says Edward C. Andercheck, Chairman of New Game World, Inc. "Our partner, Honor Games International, based in Singapore, created this unique rich beautiful world employing a development team based in Beijing and Xiamen, China. Their first hand knowledge of this culture is apparent in every aspect of this vibrant game."

The report also informs that characters created during the open beta will not be deleted at launch. This is a good thing because, although "spoiled" gamers want a better product at launch time, those who can truly appreciate a good gameplay experience (not emphasizing visuals as much) will want what they've seen in the beta. All this, of course, if the game itself does provide a good gameplay experience. However, there will be some deleting of characters created prior to August 3rd. Again, this is for the benefit of the gamer, as this will allow all players to begin the open beta on the same foot, experiencing the game with thousands of new players in North America.

"Our collaboration with Honor Games International has been a great experience." Said Steve Wade, Vice President New Game World, Inc. "I've been fortunate to help a lot of companies bring their games to the U.S. And HGI is really doing a great job in helping us adapt to the American market."

But there's even more to the open beta of Immortals, as those jumping in on the action will be eligible to compete in many different events created just for beta. For example, gamers can win gaming systems (probably... hopefully next-gen ones), Best Buy gift cards etc., will be awarded during daily events.

Remember: in order to register for an account and download the game (you know you need the game too, don't you?), follow this here link. Have fun and good luck trying to win one of those prizes.

I will never again play, beta test, or even THINK about downloading or giving personal information to any, ANY, game that is tied in any way to Edward C. Andercheck. This is the same guy who a year and a half ago bought "Horizons: Empire of Istaria" as the head of the fly-by-night company Electronic Entertainment Interactive. They then proceeded to destroy the well established community, neglected the game servers until shutdowns began, and most importantly (and criminally) used an unsecured page in an attempt to gather personal billing information from subscribers. The billing issues escalated to the point where many people where double and triple billed even AFTER trying to cancel accounts (which for some reason wasn't an option for awhile after the billing problems started). When things started to get hot they re-named their company Pixel Magic and tried to continue with their fraudulent business practices but fooled no-one. To sum up, Andercheck and his cronies closed down EEI/PM one step ahead of several States Attorneys General and the Better Business Bureau. Now it appears Andercheck has a new front company, this "New Game World" setup...*snorts*...I say this in the interest of all true MMO gamers everywhere: If you see Andercheck associated with ANY GAME at anytime, RUN, RUN, RUN as fast as you can before he tries to get his hand in your wallet!
