Online FPS ready for you to test it

If you remember, I first wrote about Combat Arms back in May, when the closed beta for this really promising MMOFPS was kicking off. Now, only a month and a bit later, developers Nexon America announce that their title is ready for open beta and invite everybody who's interested to join in and start shooting his or her way to glory.

Combat Arms is a free to play massively multiplayer online first person shooter which promises to come with no locked areas, like other "free2play" games and absolutely no monthly subscription fees. They say nothing about micro transactions or ammo for weapons, but that might be slightly different story: they have to earn some money, too. So, until we have all the details, you should know that players will earn their keep through precise marksmanship, teamwork and stealth and it is already planned for a full release this summer.

But, until then, feel free to join the open beta team on the official Combat Arms website. The new version will bring an extra map, individual death match game mode, as well as a few more additional match settings in order to make the game as varied as possible. Also, if you remember, as I said when I first wrote about the game, the developers plan to add monthly updates to their game, and it seems that they really meant it: the first update is already up and running and it has added new weapons and gear, as well as the in-game messenger and the clan system.

"Competition in video games among friends is always fun, but Combat Arms takes it to another level by letting gamers frag for free," said Min Kim, vice president of marketing for Nexon America. "Combat Arms delivers all the great socialization elements found in other popular Nexon Games and presents them in one of the most popular gaming genres in North America."
