Hacktivists of Anonymous Cambodia have issued a video statement threatening the Cambodian government.

“Government of the once great Kingdom of Cambodia, It has come to our attention that despite our continued warnings you have decided to disregard our requests to assist the people of this country, and have persisted in running a one-way system which only shows to benefit yourselves,” the hackers said.

They accuse the government of creating a system that favors only wealthy people, disregarding the needs of the poor.

“To the Kingdom of Cambodia government, you have made an enemy of Anonymous, you have angered us considerably and we now pose a significant threat to you,” Anonymous Cambodia warned.

At the time of writing, Anonymous Cambodia is targeting the websites of the National Archives (nac.gov.kh) and the Ministry of Rural Development (mrd.gov.kh).

The National Archives website is offline. When visitors try to access the Rural Development’s Ministry’s website, they’re greeted with a malware warning message from Google.

Anonymous Cambodia representatives have told me that they don’t plan on attacking only government websites. The hackers plan on targeting other government systems as well.
